Hand-crafted from unique Wisconsin Timber

Troy Zietlow has been interested in woodworking since he was old enough to wield a chainsaw and an axe. Starting with felling trees and cutting wood with his father and grandfather as a kid in Wisconsin, Troy found an appreciation for lumber projects and fine craftsmanship, and knew the wood business was for him at an early age.

A Midwestern lumberjack with strong Nordic roots, Troy has been crafting extraordinary, unique wood projects for over 35 years. He lives in the country in the log house he built (along with much of the furniture for it.) It’s also where his mill and workshop are located.

He can usually be found out in the woodshop crafting new works; whether they be stools carved from a single piece of wood or tree-trunk coffee tables, each project and product reflects the tough, resilient, and inventive Nordic spirit that is Troy’s lineage.

Nordic Timberworks is founded on the principle of inspired, authentic, honest work, designed and crafted to last a lifetime….or several. He started with classic Adirondack-style chairs and furniture and has since taken on many projects ranging from arbors to custom bars. His exceptional custom projects have span both large and small, and include many of the components of the Aldo Leopold conservation building in Madison, Wisconsin.
